Say how the invoice was paid: in full, partly with the rest owed, or split across methods such as cash and bank transfer. Each method is its own payment with its own note, so the till and bank stay right. Later payments are added on the invoice itself.

Safe to retry on a bad connection
Each invoice carries a unique request key, so a retry after a dropped connection returns the invoice that was already created instead of making a second one.
