Multiple branches

Running more than one branch, and reporting per branch.

Branches

You can run more than one branch and tie each employee to theirs. Reports can be seen per branch or combined.

A branch is a reporting boundary, not a separate security boundary — all branches of one business share one set of books.

Setting up branches

Branches form a tree: a branch can sit under another, for example a head office with two shops below it.

All branches share one workspace and one ledger; a branch separates work and reports, not data.

  1. Open Staff & payroll and go to the branches tab.
  2. Add the branch by name and, if needed, choose its parent branch.
  3. Assign employees to their branch.

Staff and branches

Each employee can be assigned to one or more branches, so it is clear where they work.

Tills belong to a branch too: one open till per person per branch, so someone working in two branches has a till in each.

Reports by branch

Accounting reports such as profit and loss have a branch selector: view one branch or the whole business.

The combined report is the sum of the same documents the single-branch reports show; nothing is calculated separately.

Because every branch is in one ledger, a customer balance or supplier debt is one figure for the whole business, not per branch.

Warehouses

If each branch keeps its own goods, create a warehouse for each. The warehouse page lists warehouses with each one's total value, product count, low stock and out of stock.

A sales invoice says which warehouse the goods leave and a purchase invoice which one they arrive at. With a single warehouse it is chosen automatically.

Stock not yet in any warehouse shows in the «No warehouse» row and can be moved into the right warehouse without changing the product total.
