Service sessions

Book a service for a customer, deliver it, and see how it is paid for.

What a service session is

If your business sells time — a salon, a clinic, a class, a repair shop — every appointment is a service session: one customer, one service, one time slot and one practitioner.

Sessions are listed on the customers page, under the Service sessions tab. Scheduling, delivery and cancellation all happen there.

Booking a session

A session needs a customer, a service, a date and a start time. When the service has a duration, the end time is filled in for you and you can still change it.

The practitioner is optional: a session nobody has been assigned yet is still valid.

  1. Open the customers page and choose Service sessions.
  2. Press New session and fill in the customer, the service and the time.
  3. Save. The session is booked as Scheduled.

Delivery and settlement

Settlement is chosen at delivery, not at booking: that is the day it becomes clear whether the customer uses package credit, is billed on an invoice, or was served free of charge.

Package credit is consumed on delivery. Invoice delivery links the session to an existing invoice of the same customer and never creates a new one. A free service cannot be recorded without a reason.

When the connection drops

On Windows and mobile, sessions are written to the device first and sent to the server afterwards. The Sent to server column says whether each session is queued, confirmed, or was refused.

A browser has no such queue, so that column stays Unknown there — there is nothing to read.
